Gran Sasso is the Apennine Mountains in the province of Teramo (Abruzzo) in central Italy.

The highest mountain of the Gran Sasso is the Corno Grande at 2912 m. The artificial lake Campotosto is 1.313 meters above sea level. The massif includes the southernmost glaciers in Europe, five hectares to 2.700 meters above sea level: the Calderone glacier. Campo Imperatore is a vast plateau to 1800 meters.
