The Centre for Contemporary Art Luigi Pecci of Prato, has the mission to present, collect, document and encourage the development of the most advanced artistic research.
The museum was founded by the municipality of Prato, several businesses and citizens, from the project of the Florentine architect Italo Gamberini .
Since its opening in June 1988, the Centro per l’ Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci produced and housed several shows and multimedia events and it gathered a considerable heritage of work collections.
Its collection consists of over a thousand works that reflect the activity of exhibition and research, and presents the best trends and developments of contemporary artistic languages.
Today is a popular tourist destination.
