Palazzo Chigi-Saracini in Italian.

During your trip to Italy, you must not miss seeing the Palazzo Chigi-Saracini which is located in Siena, in via di Città. It is one of the most prestigious palaces in Siena and most visited by tourists, which now houses a valuable private art collection and the prestigious Accademia Musicale Chigiana.
In the mid-twelfth century, the noble family of Siena Marescotti, erects the tower that still exists at the end of the building. Their emblem (an eagle with outstretched wings) is still visible on the windows of the facade.
In 1506, the Mandoli Piccolimini acquire the building and significantly change in the spirit of the Renaissance as is visible on the cortile and loggia.
In 1770, Marcantonio Saracini undertakes a reorganization which lasts until 1824, when his son Galganoinherits the palace, keeping the original Gothic façade follows the characteristic curve of the Via di Città where the palace is located. The interior is renovated and modernized by the bedrooms of Agostino Fantastici, and collections of artworks are installed.
