The Dolomites (Italian Dolomiti) are a mountain range in the Alps. They rise in Italy (Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto). Since 26 June 2009, the Dolomites are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At large, they are also a set composed of the Alps Fiemme Mountains and Vicenza Alps.

Before taking the name ” Dolomites”, they were commonly called Monti Pallidi, the “pale mountains”.

With its 3343 meters, the Marmolada is the highest peak of the massif.
