The Knights’ Square (Piazza dei Cavalieri in Italian) in Pisa is the most famous square in the city after Piazza del Duomo. Piazza dei Cavalieri was the center of the civil power .
In the second half of the sixteenth century became the headquarters of the Knights of St. Stephen, wanted by the Grand Duke Cosimo I de Medici. Today the Piazza dei Cavalieri is a cultural attraction also for the presence of the headquarters of the Ecole Normale of Pisa.
