Lake Reschen

Lago di Resia (Reschensee in German) is an artificial alpine lake in Val Venosta (Trentino Alto Adig ) to 1498 m in the municipality of Graun (BZ) , near the lake Haidersee . With its capacity of 120 million cubic meters, it is the largest lake in South Tyrol. The top of the old bell tower Curon (Graun) emerges from the water and is still visible. The structure dates back to 1357, when the church was built in 1832-1838. In winter, when the lake freezes, it is possible to walk on the lake to the bell tower . Legend says that in some winter days, you can hear the bells (which were removed from the bell tower July 18, 1950 , before the formation of the lake).
