The Via Appia Antica is a segment of the Roman road Via Appia.
The Via Appia connected Rome to Brindisi (Brindisi), the most important port for Greece and East into the world of ancient Rome. Appia is probably the most famous Roman that we can still see today, its importance is confirmed by the nickname by which the Romans called it: Queen ” viarum “.
Today, it is still possible to travel a part of the Via Appia going from Rome to Ciampino; this part is commonly called “Via Appia Antica”.
