The Samnite theater is located on the outskirts of Pietrabbondante approximately 966 meters ( 3169 feet) above sea level , next to another small Samnite temple with shops arcades from a previous era (200 BC) . To build it, the Samnites built two terraces along the side of the mountain, but at different levels on a single axis. The overall size of the area is 55 by 90 meters (180 by 295 ft).
