Villa Melzi d’Eril is enriched by monuments, relics (including a Venetian gondola transported to Bellagio by the will of Napoleon , and two precious ancient Egyptian statues), rare exotic plants, secular trees, camellias hedges, woods azaleas and gigantic rhododendrons. A villa, a chapel and a greenhouse where the neoclassical touch is at its highest peaks. Before arriving at the villa, we travel in the shade of the trees, cut in the shape of an umbrella, so to enjoy a walk while limiting excessive summer heat of some years. This type of pruning at the time was a regular feature in the landscape from the shores of the Como Lake.
