The Basilica of San Domenico (Cateriniana Basilica di San Domenico) is the most important church in Siena in Tuscany. The Basilica is located in Via Camporegio and dominates the valley of Fontebranda. The church was built between 1226 and 1265 initially brick; during the XIVth century the Basilica was enlarged in the Gothic forms whose only visible today are those that have withstood the fires (1443, 1531), military occupation (1548-1552) and the 1798 earthquake.
