The Cathedral of Pienza is located on the central Piazza Pio II, next to Palazzo Piccolomini in Pienza. The Cathedral of Pienza was built by Pope Pius II between 1459 and 1462, and was directed by Bernardo Rossellino during the renovation of the city.
Despite being one of the most important monuments of the Italian Renaissance, some details recall the Franciscan Gothic churches.
