Mercury Square (Piazza Mercurio in Italian) is one of the historic squares of Massa .
The square is named after the statue of the god Mercury above the fountain in the center of the square.
There are many historical buildings in the square : the old church of St. John and the beautiful town hall , also known as Palazzo Bourdillion , currently used as the library of the city.
Piazza Mercurio has been and continues to be very busy and popular , in fact, always the Tuesday morning there is a market town.
