Piazza Grande is the most remarkable place in the medieval city of Arezzo, which opens behind the 13th-century Romanesque apse of Santa Maria della Pieve. Once the main market of the city, is currently the site of the Giostra del Saracino. Piazza Grande has a sloping red brick pavement with limestone geometrical lines. Aside from the apse of the church, other monuments of the site include :
• The Palace of Fraternità dei Laici.
• The Loggia dei Vasari, a flat Mannerist façade designed by Giorgio Vasari.
• The Episcopal Palace
• Palazzo Cofani – Brizzolari , with Torre Faggiolana .
• The Remains of the municipal palace and the Palazzo del Popolo may also be admired.
